Rice is the staple food in the coastal areas. Most of the people here prefer to eat rice as compared to chapati. Rice is extremely beneficial for health. It is rich in Vitamin-D, Calcium, Fiber, Iron, Thiamine and Riboflavin. Rice contains a variety of vitamins and minerals. Which is beneficial for keeping the body healthy. But keep in mind that the rice must be cooked. Rice is beneficial only if it is cooked and consumed. However, some people also have a habit of eating raw rice. 

A desire to consume raw rice may be a sign of the psychological disorder pica, which is linked to serious health issues. Consuming large amounts of raw rice due to pica has been associated with side effects like fatigue, abdominal pain, hair loss, tooth damage, and iron deficiency anemia

Food poisoning: 

Eating raw rice has been associated with adverse health effects, such as food poisoning. It contains a bacterium called Bacillus cirrhosis. This can lead to food poisoning.

Body loses energy

People who consume raw rice are constantly lazy. Consumption of raw rice leads to fatigue, which reduces energy in the body.

Interferes with metabolism

Lectin is a protein found in raw rice. It actually acts as a pesticide. Therefore, consumption of raw rice should be avoided. This can lead to digestive problems.

Kidney Stone

People who consume raw rice may suffer from kidney stones. Similarly, people who suffer from kidney stones should not eat raw rice.
