Gurugram, July 16 The Gurugram district administration on Thursday declared 100 containment zones including 89 under Gurugram block, 4 in Pataudi and 7 in Sohna blocks.

Among these, the officials have also declared 9 large outbreak zones in the districts where fresh cases are frequently appearing. Those places are densely populated and residents are violating lockdown norms despite several measures taken by the district administration.

District Magistrate Amit Khatri said that containment zones were reduced in the district from 104 to 100 but Large Outbreak Regions (LOR) is still a challenge.

Dr Virender Yadav, the civil surgeon of Gurugram said, "As the cases of Covid-19 are frequently appearing in LOR, we started strict contact tracing campaign in these areas to identify suspects. Our contact tracing system will continue till July 29 and we are committed to implement norms in LOR and containment zones."

"We have appealed residents to go at testing centers if they have any symptoms of fever, mild fever, infection in throat and bronchitis complications. The rapid antigen test is free for them. Detection of Covid-19 symptoms in early stage helps to save lives," Dr Yadav said.
