Noida, July 1 Even with the national capital struggling to keep its daily Covid-19 tally under the 2,000-mark, its neighbouring Gautam Buddha Nagar, which comprises Noida and Greater Noida, witnessed 58 new cases in the last 12 hours, while 17 persons were discharged from different hospitals in the district.

The Uttar Pradesh government informed that the 17 discharges on Wednesday took the total number of recovered patients in the district to 1,523. As on Wednesday, there are 817 active cases in the district, which has reported 22 Covid related deaths so far.

Overall, Uttar Pradesh, the country's most populous state, reported 585 fresh Covid-19 cases in the last 12 hours, while 546 people were discharged from different hospitals.

As on Wednesday, there are 235 Category 1 and 58 Category 2 containment zones in the GB Nagar district.
