Arm stiffness and pain are increasingly common due to sedentary work, excessive phone use, lack of exercise, and poor sleeping posture, which strain arm muscles. Early intervention is crucial, as ignoring the pain can worsen it.Light exercise is a good first step. Simple arm movements like straightening and raising arms, rotating them, or stretching can loosen muscles. Performing these exercises for 10–15 minutes daily, especially in the morning or after prolonged work, improves circulation and reduces stiffness. Heat application, such as with a hot water bottle or warm towel, also provides muscle relief and alleviates pain. Applying heat once or twice daily can enhance the benefits.

Massaging with oil also proves to be highly beneficial. Gently massaging the arms using sesame oil, coconut oil, or a medicated oil helps reduce tension in the muscles. Massage improves blood circulation and nourishes the muscles, thereby gradually reducing the pain. Yoga poses can also be of great help in this regard. Practicing yoga poses such as Bhujangasana (Cobra Pose), Tadasana (Mountain Pose), or Gomukhasana (Cow Face Pose) strengthens the arms, shoulders, and upper arms. Regular yoga practice keeps the muscles flexible and reduces the likelihood of experiencing pain.

Furthermore, proper nutrition is equally important. A deficiency of calcium, magnesium, and protein in the body can lead to muscle weakness. Therefore, it is essential to include milk, lentils, dry fruits, and green leafy vegetables in your diet. Adequate water intake is also crucial for maintaining muscle health. Maintaining proper posture while working is also essential. When using a laptop or mobile phone, ensure your hands are adequately supported and avoid keeping your shoulders tense. Instead of sitting in the same position continuously, take a short break every hour to move your arms.

Overall, the issue of arm stiffness and pain can be managed through simple remedies. Regular exercise, a proper diet, massage, and the application of heat provide relief to the muscles, enabling you to perform daily tasks with ease. However, if the pain intensifies significantly or persists for a prolonged period, it is necessary to consult a specialist.
