New Delhi, April 14 Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Prakash Javadekar on Tuesday said Prime Minister Narendra Modis address to announce the nationwide lockdown as "visionary" and a "guide" for the people.

He asserted that the fight against coronavirus could be won if all Ind strictly followed the lockdown norms.

Javadekar appealed to the people to strictly follow the lockdown or else the authorities have to enforce it.

The Minister echoed Modi's assurance that detailed guidelines will be issued by the Centre by Wednesday to chart out any changes required, if any, in the enforcement of the lockdown till May 3.

Modi had said: "The fight against corona will be more strictly enforced in the next one week. By April 20, every town, police station, district, state will be evaluated on how well the lockdown is followed or which areas have been able to protect themselves from coronavirus.

"Areas that succeed in this litmus test will not become hotspots and less likely to turn into hotspots… some necessary activities can be allowed there from April 20."

Javadekar also urged the young scientists of India for more research on coronavirus and also the people to follow AYUSH Ministry advice on tackling coronavirus.
