New Delhi, July 17 Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on Friday once again attacked the Uttar Pradesh government over its handling of the novel coronavirus situation and said that it must adopt transparent policies instead of making false claims.

"Sitting in Lucknow, the Uttar Pradesh government makes big claims on fighting coronavirus, but two kilometres from there, all claims are exposed. The number of Covid-19 cases in UP are increasing continuously.

"In such a situation, the Yogi Adityanath government will have to adopt strong and transparent policies instead of making false claims," she tweeted along with a news report.

Earlier in the day, in a Facebook post, the Congress leader said that Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath had claimed regarding two lakh hospital beds in the state a few days ago but as the coronavirus cases were rising, the "mismanagement" was coming to the fore.

She also tagged a media report claiming that even King George's Medical University employees are not getting beds in the hospital in Lucknow.

Priyanka Gandhi has been critical of the state's government and even locked horns with it in mid-May over providing 1,000 buses to transport stranded migrant workers to their native states.
