Tata Group announced that it will invest Rs. 500 crore in Mumbai’s Breach Candy Hospital, reported Times Of India. This move of Tata Group will help the hospital to expand its healthcare sector.

This investment by Tata Group will make them biggest financial backer of Mumbai’s Breach Candy hospital.

According to the Times of India's report, the group's chairman, N Chandrasekaran, will take over as chairman of the Breach Candy Hospital Trust on October 1, 2025, replacing veteran banker Deepak Parekh.

Other well-known figures on the trustees include Anand Mahindra of the Mahindra Group, Jamshyd N. Godrej, and Harsh Goenka of the RPG Group.

Originally intended as a 25-bed hospital by British architect Claude Batley, Breach Candy is now a 275-bed multispecialty facility that is known to treat some of the most well-known public figures.

On October 9, 2024, Ratan Tata died at Breach Candy Hospital at the age of 86.

Apart from this new venture in the healthcare sector Tata Group also runs Tata Memorial Hospital in Mumbai's Parel. The conglomerate also owns the Tata Medical Centre in Kolkata, that specialises in cancer treatment.
