Hyderabad, Dec 12 Telangana has registered 635 new Covid positives cases, increasing the state's tally to 2.77 lakh, even as 565 more patients recovered from the virus on Saturday.

Hyderabad accounted for 141 infections in the past 24 hours, followed by Rangareddy (76), Medchal Malkajgiri (72), Karimnagar (39), Khammam (36) and Warangal Urban (35).

Among other places, Nalgonda (25), Bhadradri Kothagudem (24), Peddapalli (17), Mancherial and Sangareddy (14 each).

With four more Covid deaths, Telangana's toll reached 1,489.

The state has a Covid fatality rate of 0.53 per cent, compared to the national average of 1.5 per cent.

In the past 24 hours, 565 more patients recovered from the virus to increase total recoveries to 2.67 lakh.

With a Covid recovery rate of 96.69 per cent, Telangana has a better recovery rate than the national average of 94.9 per cent.

Of the 2.77 lakh cases, active cases currently stand at 7,670.

The state tested 52,308 more samples for the virus, even as the total Coronavirus tests in the southern state crossed 60 lakh.
