Many diseases have emerged due to changing lifestyles, and cancer is one of the most concerning. Currently, the incidence of cancer has increased significantly. While several treatments are available today—and many individuals have fully recovered and gone on to live healthy lives—cancer continues to instil fear in many.

Early detection is crucial. The sooner cancer is diagnosed, the better the chances of successful treatment. However, this is where many people go wrong. Despite the body showing warning signs, people often ignore them, and by the time the disease is discovered, it has already progressed to the third or fourth stage.

Doctors have highlighted the importance of recognising the early signs of cancer. In a post on the Instagram page Dr. Sugandha07, three key symptoms were discussed—changes that should never be ignored:

Unexplained Weight Loss:

If you suddenly lose 7 to 8 kilograms within a month or two without any change in diet, exercise, or physical activity, it could be a sign of cancer. This kind of weight loss warrants immediate medical attention.

Persistent Pain or Unusual Sensations:

Ongoing pain or unusual sensations in any part of the body should not be ignored. If something feels different than usual, it's important to consult a doctor promptly.

Unusual Discharge from Body Openings:

If there is any kind of frequent discharge—such as water, blood, or other fluids—from body openings like the nose, eyes, or ears, it should be taken seriously. While this may not always indicate cancer, it can be a symptom of a serious underlying condition and must be evaluated by a medical professional.
