Caracas, Nov 28 Venezuela's National Electoral Council (CNE) has announced that all preparations have been made for the country's upcoming legislative elections on December 6.

"We have assembled and dispatched the last box" of voting materials, which represents "more than three months of efforts on the part of approximately 500 men and women who have been here day and night", Xinhua news agency quoted CNE President Indira Alfonzo as saying on Friday.

"Everything is ready for December 6, the only thing missing is for you to make your choice from among the proposals for candidates to the National Assembly for the 2021-2026 period," Alfonzo added.

More than 20 million Venezuelans are eligible to vote in the election of the 277 deputies that make up the National Assembly (unicameral Congress), which will legislate during the 2021-2026 period.

Meanwhile, the opposition coalition Democratic Unity Roundtable have announced that it will not participate in the polls citing irregularities and the likelihood of fraud.
