A  Department of Public Safety (DPS) trooper was shot in central Phoenix, Arizona in the United States on Thursday evening, February 5. According to Arizona's Family report, the shooting took place at a trailer park near 24th Avenue and Indian School Road, just east of Interstate 17.

One suspect involved was also reportedly shot, sources told Arizona's Family, who described the scene as “very chaotic.” Details on the trooper’s condition are not immediately available. Traffic cameras in the area showed police blocking off the southbound Indian School exit ramp off on I-17.

No other information has been released. This is the fifth officer-involved shooting in the Phoenix area in 2026 and the 13th in the state. The shooting happened just hours after police said they shot a homicide suspect in west Phoenix.
