Jack Ma, the billionaire who is one of the richest people in China, the founder and former chairman of Alibaba Group, the largest online company in China, has not attended public events in the last two months. This has led to speculations that Ma could be missing.

Alibaba founder Jack Ma surprised everyone by not attending the finale of his own talent show, Africa's Business Heroes. Jack Ma was supposed to be part of the show's judge panel. But at the very last moment, Jack was replaced by another senior Alibaba executive who attended the event. The United Kingdom's Telegraph reports that all of this happened in November. Surprisingly, a photo of Jack Ma, the company's founder, has also been removed from the website. According to Financial Times, an Alibaba spokesperson said Ma was unable to take part in the judging panel "due to a schedule conflict."

A new controversy has been reported since October over Jack Ma's ANT group. Jack Ma had on October 24 expressed his displeasure over the government's policies in China. In a speech in Shanghai, Jack Ma said there was no room for research in the country, adding that China still seemed to be a club of old people when it came to global banking. Today's economy is made up of industrialization. We must create a new economic system for our future generations. We need to change our current economic system, "said Jack Ma. Ma openly spoke against the outdated supervision norms and financial regulation which were dampening innovation. He also said that Chinese banks operated with a "pawnshop mentality".Jack Ma's last tweet was on October 10, 2019.
