At least 18 passengers have been injured after a Delta Airlines plane crashed at Toronto Pearson International Airport in Canada on Monday (local time), February 17. The accident occurred when Delta Flight 4819, a CRJ-900 (N932XJ), carrying approximately 80 passengers, took off from Minneapolis at around 11.47 am to Saint Paul to Toronto, operated by Endeavor Air, crashed and landed upside down.

Meanwhile, a news surveillance video captured the moment a Delta Airlines jet crashed at Toronto Airport. A viral video is not clear, but it can be seen a plane crashing bust into clouds of snow, smoke and flames due to skidding. However, no casualties have been reported following the incident.

Video Shows Evacuation Process Inside Delta Plane

The Canadian government received information from Peel Region paramedics that the total number of injured passengers was 18. Ontario's air ambulance, also known as Orange Air Ambulance, transported three injured passengers to Toronto hospitals in critical condition. The injured people including a child was taken to the hospital for Sick Childern, a 60-year-old man, a woman in her 40s were moved to other medical facilities in the city.

The emergency response included three helicopters and two critical care ground ambulances deployed by Ornge to attend to the incident. Rescue authorities are attending to the situation.

Delta Airlines in his post on X said, "Initial reports indicate there are no fatalities and 18 customers with injuries have been transported to area hospitals. Our primary focus is taking care of those impacted."

"Delta has activated its Passenger Inquiry Center for family and loved ones of customers involved in today’s accident so they can connect with Delta for more information. In Canada, these individuals may reach out via 1-866-629-4775. In the United States, they may connect using 1-800-997-5454," a post read.

“The hearts of the entire global Delta family are with those affected by today’s incident at Toronto-Pearson International Airport,” said Delta CEO Ed Bastian. “I want to express my thanks to the many Delta and Endeavor team members and the first responders on site. We are working to confirm the details and will share the most current information on http://news.delta.com as soon as it becomes available.  In the meantime, please take care and stay safe.”

In its further update, Delta said that it has cancelled all its flights to and from YYZ for the remainder of the evening and has issued a travel waiver.
