US President Donald Trump on Tuesday, March 11, bought a Tesla red car Model S from Elon Musk after the company lined up a few Tesla electric models in front of the White House for the President to select. Trump sat in the car and Musk explained the features of the electric vehicle.

Trump's decision to purchase a Tesla car came after he promised yesterday that he would buy one to support Musk after several showrooms of the electric vehicle company were vandalised and attacked by protestors. Musk received criticism for his role as the government's cost cutter.

Donald Trump also shared a video featuring Elon Musk with Tesla cars. "Number one, it's a great product, as good as it gets—and number two, because @ElonMusk has devoted his energy and his life to doing this and I think he has been treated very unfair," said Trump in a post on X.

Elon Musk said, “As a function of the great policies of President Trump and his administration, and as an act of faith in America, Tesla is going to DOUBLE vehicle output in the United States within the next two years…”

According to Trump, Democrats were trying to "illegally and collusively boycott Tesla … in order to attack and do harm to Elon, and everything he stands for". He said he would buy a brand new Tesla as Tesla shares plummeted Monday.

Trump saw five Tesla cars, including a Cybertruck, and exclaimed at how beautiful the car was and how everything was computerized. He said the car would be for his staff at the White House as he is not allowed to drive on public roads.
