US President Donald Trump again claimed that he stopped several wars across the world, including India vs Pakistan last year. Addressing the 2026 State of the Union, the United States President said in his first 10 months, he stopped eight wars.
Trump claimed that his Pakistani counterpart, Shehbaz Sharif, told him that you saved nearly 35 million people during 'Operation Sindhoor' on May 7, 202,5 carried out by Indian military forces in revenge of deadly Pahalgam attack, which had claimed the lives of 26 people. Trump also claimed that he has resolved conflicts between Israel and Hamas, Israel and Iran, Egypt and Ethiopia, India and Pakistan, Serbia and Kosovo, Rwanda and the Democratic Republic of Congo, Armenia and Azerbaijan, and Cambodia and Thailand.
"In my first 10 months, I ended eight wars... Pakistan and India would have had a nuclear war. 35 million people said the Prime Minister of Pakistan would have died if it were not for my involvement," Trump said during his address before a joint session of Congress in Washington.
Meanwhile, India had constantly denied all claims about US involvement in stopping India and Pakistan war last year. While Trump took credit for stopping India and Pakistan military conflict several times since May 10 last year.
According to New Delhi, the understanding on cessation of hostilities with Pakistan was reached following direct talks between the Directors General of Military Operations (DGMOs) of the two militaries. When asked about Trump’s role in stopping the conflict, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar quipped that the US “was in the United States.”
