Several people were injured in an explosion and fire at the Aspen Aerogels manufacturing plant in East Providence, Rhode Island, on Wednesday night. The East Providence Fire Department and Emergency Management Agency said, "multiple casualty incident".
"Crews are operating at an active Multiple Casualty Incident and Structure Fire at Aspen Aerogels 3 Dexter Rd. Please avoid the area more details to follow," said East Providence Fire Department and Emergency Management Agency.

The blaze erupted at around 8.30 pm in a chemical factory, Aspen Aerogels, situated on Dexter Road, said East Providence Mayor Bob DaSilva. Emergency crews, including medical teams and firefighters, are at the scene and working to rescue people and transport the injured to nearby hospitals for their treatment.
As per the preliminary investigation by the police reported by WJAR, stated that multiple people with minor injuries inside and outside the building. Footage from the scene showed a large emergency response, including several ambulances and police vehicles outside the plant.
