Abu Dhabi, May 7 Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri on Thursday participated in a trilateral meeting under the India–France–United Arab Emirates framework in Abu Dhabi, along with Reem Al Hashimy, Minister of State and Special Envoy for India, and Martin Briens, Secretary General of the Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs of France.
The Ministry of External Affairs said that the three sides reaffirmed their commitment to the trilateral partnership and agreed on a structured roadmap with defined timelines.
During the visit, the Foreign Secretary also met with Khaldoon Al Mubarak, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Mubadala Investment Company.
Earlier on Thursday, the Foreign Secretary called on Reem Al Hashimy, the United Arab Emirates Minister of State for International Cooperation, with both sides reviewing the full spectrum of the India-United Arab Emirates Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.
The Ministry of External Affairs stated that they positively assessed the progress made on the decisions taken during the visit of the President of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, to India in January 2026 and the visit of the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, in February 2026.
They reviewed ongoing bilateral cooperation in the areas of trade, investment, economic cooperation, energy, connectivity, defence and security, financial technology, health, education, culture, and people-to-people connect, building on the outcomes from the 16th Joint Commission Meeting and fifth Strategic Dialogue co-chaired by External Affairs Minister and the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the United Arab Emirates in December 2025, noted the Ministry of External Affairs.
They also identified new initiatives to further deepen the bilateral Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, it added.
Earlier this week, PM Modi condemned the attack on the United Arab Emirates' Fujairah that resulted in injuries to three Indian nationals and termed the targeting of civilians and infrastructure as “unacceptable”.
PM Modi had also expressed India’s solidarity with the United Arab Emirates and reiterated support for the peaceful resolution of all issues through dialogue and diplomacy.
