A huge explosion was reported near the Dubai International Airport on Saturday morning, March 7. A visual shared on social media shows a cloud of smoke blowing out from the area as Iran intensifies retaliation in the UAE against Israel and US military operations in Tehran.

Smoke and a minor fire were seen near the Dubai Airport's Terminal 3. According to the Irish Star report, at least one flight was redirected due to the incident. The UAE Defence Ministry did not immediately comment on the alleged incident.

It has been learned that the air defence system in the UAE has intercepted the upcoming projectiles, including ballistic missiles and drones from Iran. The country is also issuing safety alerts to residents as the situation evolves, urging them to immediately seek shelter in secure buildings and avoid windows, doors, and open areas.

Meanwhile, another explosion was reported in Dubai, described as "fairly strong".

"Dubai authorities have confirmed that a minor incident resulting from the fall of debris after an interception has been successfully contained. No injuries have been reported. Authorities have also denied reports circulating on social media regarding any incidents at Dubai International Airport," Dubai Media Office said in a post on X, confirming the incident.

Visuals appeared on social media show small dark smoke rising above the sky in the area near Dubai Airport. Though the source of the explosion has not been revealed by UAE officials. Some users claimed it's an Iranian suicide drone debris that falls after being intercepted.

Over a dozen aircraft, including multiple A380s are now holding over Dubai International Airport following the Iranian missile incident - the government still calls it "minor."
