Iran's Defence Minister Amir Nasirzadeh is believed to have been killed in US-Israeli missile strikes on Saturday, February 28, according to the news agency Reuters. Along with Defence Minister Revolutionary Guards commander Mohammed Pakpour also been assassinated in attacks, reported NDTV, citing sources close to military operations by Israel Defence Forces (IDF), and one regional source said.

Tehran has yet to confirm publicly on the status of the two senior defence officials. The strikes come amid a major. Follow Live Update on Iran-US War for the latest developments. 

The strikes came amid a major joint offensive by Israel has in Tehran with US military in Tehran. Explosions were heard across the capital city on Saturday, killing several people, including 40 female students at a school. However, the exact death toll has not been officially announced by Iran revolutionary guard officials.
