Strikes from Iran in oil supplying nations, including Qatar has hit prices of crude oil in the international market. Qatar has halted its liquefied natural gas (LNG) production from Monday after Iranian drone strikes continue to pound.

QatarEnergy, the state-owned giant and one of the world’s largest LNG producers, suspended production operations at two facilities after drones launched from Iran hit the sites, according to Fox News report. The Defense Ministry stated that they neutralised two drones which were fired by Iran towards facilities.

About 20% of global LNG supply will go through the Strait of Hormuz in 2024, primarily from Qatar, according to the U.S. Energy Information Administration. 

Qatar Ministry of Interior warned people of gathering at the incident sites (missile or drone-fired sites). The statement issued by the Ministry of Interior refrains from recording and sharing footage from the sites.

"The Ministry of Interior warns against gathering at or heading to incident sites, or photographing and sharing content related to ongoing field developments," said the Qatar Ministry of Interior in a statement.

It said that such actions hinder the work of competent authorities, including the smooth movement of medical vehicles, Civil Defense units and security personnel. "Such actions hinder the work of the competent authorities and may affect response speed and public safety," concluded the Ministry of Interior, Qatar.
