Italy registers 431 deaths due to COVID-19 in last 24 hours, lowest in 3 weeks

Italy has reported 431 new coronavirus deaths in the last 24 hours, which is the smallest overnight increase in the country in three weeks, said the head of the National Civil Protection Department Angelo Borrelli on Sunday.

Italy has reported 431 new coronavirus deaths in the last 24 hours, which is the smallest overnight increase in the country in three weeks, said the head of the National Civil Protection Department Angelo Borrelli on Sunday.

The total number of COVID-19 fatalities in Italy stood at 19,899.

This is the lowest daily death toll since March 19, when 427 fatalities were recorded.

Globally, more than 109,000 people have died from the new coronavirus and confirmed infections topped 1.7 million.
