At least 10 people were killed after two Royal Malaysian Navy helicopters collided with each other and crashed in Lumut, Perak on Tuesday, April 23. According to the Free Malaysia Today report, the Perak Fire and Rescue Department confirmed the incident and said medical officers confirmed their deaths at the scene.

It is understood that they were rehearsing for the Navy’s 90th anniversary event. In a viral video of the incident, it can be understood that they were rehearsing for the Navy’s 90th anniversary event. The 21-second clip shows one helicopter crashing into the tail of another in mid-air and both choppers diving to the crashes to the ground. Fragments of the helicopters are seen flying through the air and landing near an open field where naval members are assembled for their rehearsal.

Military Helicopters Crash in Mid-Air Collision

Operation is ongoing to retrieve the bodies of the victims from the helicopters. Reports suggest that authorities received information about the chopper's crash at around 9.45 am today, stating that two helicopters, models HOM (M503-3) and Fennec (M502-6), had collided and crashed.

The HOM (M503-3) helicopter was reportedly carrying seven people with the remaining three aboard the other. More details awaited.
