Hours after President Donald Trump announced a ceasefire between the US and Iran on Tuesday, April 7, Tehran reportedly fired missiles towards Israel, Dubai, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, and Kuwait. Loud sirens and missile alerts went off in several parts of West Asian countries, including Israel, according to The Times of Israel report, quoting an IDF official.

This comes after Trump decided not to bomb Iran, and both countries agreed on a two-week pause. Iran's Supreme Leader, Mojtaba Khamenei accept the deal and instructed all its military front units to stop attacking, but also stated that it is not the end of the war.

"This is not the end of the war, but all military branches should follow the Supreme Leader's order and cease their fire,"  Khamenei's statement, reported by state-run Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB).

Sirens Go Off in Israel

Israel Defence Force (IDF) has reportedly intercepted several missile fire from Tehran in the southern part of the country, reported The Times of Israel. Sirens were sounded in Haifa, Kiryat Ata, Kiryat Bialik, Kiryat Yam, Kiryat Motzkin, Nesher, Daliyat al-Karmel, Shfar'am, Tirat Carmel, Atlit, Isfiya, Yokneam Illit and Sakhnin, according to Ynet.

Alerts in UAE

“UAE Air Defences system are actively engaging with missiles and UAV threats. MOD asserts that the sounds heard across the country are the result of ongoing engaging operations of missiles and UAV's,” Dubai Police wrote on X, a platform formerly known as Twitter.

Meanwhile, the Tehran Supreme National Security Council said it has agreed to the deal and will proceed with the negotiations with Washington in Islamabad on Friday. Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said passage through the Strait of Hormuz would be allowed for the next two weeks under Iranian military management.

“Based on conversations with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Asim Munir, of Pakistan, and wherein they requested that I hold off the destructive force being sent tonight to Iran, and subject to the Islamic Republic of Iran agreeing to the COMPLETE, IMMEDIATE, and SAFE OPENING of the Strait of Hormuz, I agree to suspend the bombing and attack of Iran for a period of two weeks. This will be a double sided CEASEFIRE!,” Trump posted on Truth Social.

“The reason for doing so is that we have already met and exceeded all Military objectives, and are very far along with a definitive Agreement concerning Longterm PEACE with Iran, and PEACE in the Middle East."

“We received a 10 point proposal from Iran, and believe it is a workable basis on which to negotiate. Almost all of the various points of past contention have been agreed to between the United States and Iran, but a two week period will allow the Agreement to be finalized and consummated. On behalf of the United States of America, as President, and also representing the Countries of the Middle East, it is an Honor to have this Longterm problem close to resolution,” he added.
