Nepal Airlines issued an apology on April 30, Thursday after facing criticism over a controversial network map that inaccurately depicted Jammu and Kashmir as part of Pakistan. The error triggered widespread backlash online, prompting the carrier to delete the post from its social media platforms a day earlier. In a statement shared on X, the airline acknowledged the mistake and clarified that the depiction of international borders was incorrect and did not represent Nepal’s official position. It stressed that the inaccurate map was unintentional and expressed regret over the confusion it created among viewers worldwide. The issue quickly gained significant public attention.

The airline further stated that it had taken immediate action by removing the post and initiating an internal review to prevent similar incidents in the future. It emphasised its commitment to maintaining high standards of accuracy in all official communications and visual materials. Nepal Airlines also expressed deep respect for its neighbouring countries and reaffirmed the importance of preserving positive relations across the region. The carrier said it regrets any offence caused and assured that corrective measures are being implemented to avoid such errors again. They reiterated that strict checks will be enforced before publishing content on platforms going forward.
