"Nepal strongly condemns the cowardly terror attack in Pahalgam, J&K. We stand with India against such violence," Ambassador Sharma stated. He confirmed that Neupane, who hailed from Butwal-11, Kalikanagar in Rupandehi district, lost his life in the attack, while his mother sustained injuries. "Deeply saddened by the loss of Nepali citizen Sudip Neupane. Heartfelt condolences to his family & all affected. Government of Nepal will provide all necessary assistance to his family," he added.

Foreign Minister Arzu Rana Deuba also officially confirmed the death on Tuesday evening. "I am deeply saddened by the news of the death of Nepali citizen Sudip Neupane... I pay my heartfelt tributes to him and express my deepest condolences to his family," she announced. Earlier, the Foreign Minister had stated that authorities were verifying reports regarding the possible loss of Nepali nationals. She later confirmed that Sudip Neupane's mother was injured and is currently receiving treatment.

"I also wish a speedy recovery to his mother, who was injured in the terrorist attack. We have also received news that they had arrived for a visit," she added. "Condemning such a cruel and inhuman act is not enough. The Government of Nepal condemns this incident and stands with the Government of India and the people of India in this hour of grief."

The terror attack in Pahalgam, a popular tourist destination in Kashmir, has sent shockwaves across the region. Union Home Minister Amit Shah visited Pahalgam on Wednesday morning and paid tribute to the victims.

This incident marks one of the most significant terror attacks in the region since the abrogation of Article 370 in 2019. Security forces have launched search operations to apprehend the attackers, while heightened security measures continue to keep the area on high alert. Organisations across Jammu have also called for a bandh in response to the attack.
