The most awaited news is coming in from Saudi Arabia: the crescent of the Ramadan 2025 moon has been sighted in KSA, and the first day of fasting for the holy month will be observed on Saturday, March 1. The sighting of the crescent was confirmed in both the observatories of Tumair and Sudair.

Earlier, Saudi astronomers and observers struggled to sight the crescent for Ramadan 2025 due to cloudy weather over the Tamir Observatory, a key moon-sighting location in the KSA. Weather experts indicated that cloudy conditions across different regions impacted visibility.

However, the Saudi Royal Court announced on Friday evening that the Supreme Court has officially declared Saturday, March 1, 2025, as the first day of Ramadan 1446H after certain observations, finally sighted the crescent at the Tamir and Hotat Sudair observatories, which confirmed the start of the holy month.

The Saudi Supreme Court had earlier asked the public to look for the Ramadan crescent on Friday, February 28, which corresponds to the 29th of Sha'ban. From tonight, Taraweeh Prayers will begin after Isha Prayers in the two holy mosques, Mecca and Madina.
