The crescent moon for the month of Shawwal 1446 AH was sighted in Saudi Arabia on Saturday, March 29, and Eid Al-Fitr will be celebrated tomorrow, Sunday (March 31). The moon was sighted in the Sudair and Tumair observatories, while several Middle Eastern countries will celebrate Ramadan Eid on Monday (March 31) with India. 

India, Pakistan, and Bangladesh are likely to celebrate Eid-ul-Fitr on Monday (March 31). Eid al-Fitr, or Eid-ul-Fitr, is celebrated on the first three days of the month of Shawwal, which is also the 10th month in the Hijri, or Islamic, calendar. The holy month of Ramadan in KSA lasted for or 29 days as the country started fasting for the holy month on March 1. Even Qatar announced Eid Al-Fitr on Sunday. Ramadan Eid is celebrated by Muslim communities worldwide. However, customs and traditions differ from one region to another.

Notably, South Asian countries like India, Pakistan, and Bangladesh usually celebrate Eid a day later than the Middle East and Western countries. Celebrations start with morning prayers (Fajar Namaaz) across the country’s mosques, where millions of people come to gather and pray together. The Eid prayers will be held at 15,948 mosques and 3,939 open-air prayer grounds across Saudi Arabia.
