Singapore, Nov 27 Singapore is set tighten the border control measures on travellers from Finland and Turkey, requiring them to isolate for 14 days at dedicated facilities upon their arrival in the city-state.

The decision was taken in the wake of an increase in cases in Finland and Turkey, Xinhua news agency quoted the Ministry of Health (MOH) as saying on Thursday in a statement.

Starting from 11.59 p.m. local time on Saturday, all visitors who have a travel history in the past 14 days to Finland and Turkey will be required to serve a 14-day Stay-Home Notice (SHN) at dedicated facilities, MOH said.

On October 27, Singapore announced that travellers from Finland and Turkey were allowed to serve their 14-day SHN at a suitable place of residence.

"As the global situation evolves, we will continue to adjust our border measures to manage the risk of importation and transmission to the community," said the statement.

In another development, Singapore is extending Covid-19 testing for more identified community groups, offering testing to individuals working at key delivery centres and key logistics delivery companies, said the press release.

On Thursday, Singapore reported five new Covid-19 cases, including four imported ones.

The new figure increased the overall caseload to 58,195, with 28 deaths.
