Abu Dhabi [UAE], October 24 (ANI/(WAM): National Ambulance, a part of the National Guard Command, joined forces with the National Association of Emergency Medical Technicians (NAEMT) Mideast Education Committee and The Higher Colleges of Technology (HCT) to organise the 1st Regional Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Expo 2023. The event, took place at the HCT - Dubai Women's Campus.

The two-day conference, aimed at shaping the future of emergency medical services in the UAE, Middle East and Africa region, brought together physicians, EMS professionals, faculty members, and instructors from NAEMT to exchange experiences and explore the latest developments in emergency medical services.

During the opening ceremony, Dr Shamma bint Mohammed bin Khalid Al Nahyan, Chairperson of the Board of Directors of the Sheikh Mohammed bin Khalid Al Nahyan Cultural and Educational Institutions, shared an inspiring message about the critical role that paramedics play in society. She emphasised that the paramedic profession is not just a job, but a reflection of a society's culture, and in critical moments, paramedics show compassion, ethics, and respect towards patients without any discrimination.

Sheikha Dr Shamma highlighted the importance of this conference as a first step towards a new journey with Emirati youth being the true champions in a field that needs them, saying, "This step will continue as we strive towards a better future, aligned with the vision of the wise Leadership, aimed at achieving excellence across all domains."

At the event, National Ambulance showcased its expertise and latest technologies. In addition, it shared experiences and delivered presentations on EMS orientation in the Northern Emirates and other key projects, highlighting its dedication to delivering high-quality emergency medical services.

Speaking about the event, Mohammad Salem Hboush, Chief Executive Officer of National Ambulance, said that "it signifies our dedication to shaping the future of emergency medical services and is in line with our commitment to provide the best patient-focused pre-hospital care services in the region".

"The event provides a valuable platform for knowledge exchange and a showcase for the latest advancements in the industry that will inspire the next generation of EMS practitioners," Hboush added.

The 1st Regional EMS Expo 2023 is an innovative platform that aims to shape the future of emergency medical services in the UAE and MENA region. Attendees have the opportunity to network, learn from industry experts, and gain valuable insights into the latest trends in the field. (ANI/WAM)
