Akshaya Tritiya is consider as the one of the auspicious day in Hinduism. This year, the third day of the Shukla Paksha in the month of Vaishakh will fall on Monday, April 19, 2026. On this day, people typically purchase gold, silver, and other valuables in large quantities. While many purchase gold and valuables, Premanand Ji Maharaj of Vrindavan emphasizes that worldly possessions are perishable. He believes a particular spiritual act performed on this day can elevate both your present and future lives.
1. Embrace Silence (Moun): According to Premanand Maharaj, observing silence on Akshaya Tritiya by refraining from idle chatter and disputes—is an exceptionally virtuous practice. Maintaining silence conserves one's energy, which can then be channeled entirely into devotion to the Divine.
2. Abstain from Outside Food and Water: Maharaj Ji advises a specific precaution: on this day, make every effort to avoid consuming water or food from outside sources. Instead, offer Bhog (sacred food offering) to Thakur Ji (the Lord) within the sanctity of your own home, and partake of that very offering as Prasad (sanctified food). This practice helps maintain the purity of your intellect and thoughts.
3. Maintain Continuity in Chanting (Namjap): Any mantra chanted on this day yields merits multiplied a millionfold. Maharaj Ji encourages devotees to chant the Lord's name (Kirtan) as much as possible on this day, thereby transforming their immediate environment into an atmosphere filled with positivity and divine devotion.
