Akshaya Tritiya 2026: Keep These Items in Your Kitchen to Please Goddess Lakshmi and Invite Good Fortune
Akshaya Tritiya is considered one of the most auspicious muhurat among the “Sade Teen Muhurat.” It is believed that any charity, prayers, or purchases made on this day never diminish. This year, the festival will be celebrated on April 19. On this day, people perform the Lakshmi puja and often buy gold. However, to ensure the continuous blessings of Goddess Lakshmi and to maintain prosperity and abundance in the household, certain precise Vastu remedies performed before Akshaya Tritiya are believed to be highly beneficial. Let's find out which four items placed in your kitchen storage containers can please Goddess Lakshmi.
It is believed that a home with a clean and prosperous kitchen (Annapurna space) always attracts the presence of Goddess Lakshmi. Before invoking her on the auspicious occasion of Akshaya Tritiya, make sure to follow these remedies:
A ₹10 coin in wheat flour
Wheat flour is a staple food in most households. Before Akshaya Tritiya, place a clean ₹10 coin in the flour container. The coin is considered a symbol of Lakshmi. Keeping it in the flour is believed to bring abundance in food and increase financial flow.Five cloves in salt
Salt is believed to remove negative energy. Add five cloves to the salt container. This combination is said to help eliminate poverty and attract positive energy, also opening paths to overcome debts.Cinnamon pieces in sugar
Sugar symbolizes sweetness, while cinnamon represents prosperity and good fortune. Place two to three pieces of cinnamon in the sugar container. This is believed to enhance love among family members and create new sources of income.Turmeric root in rice
Rice (Akshata) symbolizes auspiciousness, and turmeric is especially dear to Lord Vishnu and Goddess Lakshmi. Place a whole turmeric root in the rice container. This remedy is believed to ensure that food grains remain abundant and that obstacles in auspicious activities are removed.
On the day of Akshaya Tritiya, after taking a bath in the morning, worship Goddess Lakshmi and the Kuber Yantra. After performing the above remedies, pray sincerely: “O Goddess Lakshmi, keep wealth and food in our home everlasting and bless us always.” The next day after the puja, immerse all these four items in flowing water.
