When we overeat, have a meal, have a bloated stomach or feel heartburn, our first choice is a cold drink or soda.  It is a very common belief among us that if we drink a Thumbs-Up, we will burp and all the gas will go away. But the cold drinks that we drink as medicine. They become the main causes of our stomach problems.

But, did you know? The cold drinks that we drink as 'medicine' can be the root cause of your stomach problems. (digestive system damage) Many people think that drinking a cold drink makes you burp, releases the gas in the stomach and gives relief. Let's see what really happens after drinking a cold drink.

Dr. Anil Arora, Chairman of the Institute of Liver Gastroenterology at the famous Sir Ganga Ram Hospital in Delhi, says that drinking cold drinks is a very wrong way to reduce gas and acidity. There is nothing beneficial in these drinks for the body. When we drink cold drinks, the carbon dioxide gas in them goes into the stomach. That same gas comes out through belching. This belching is not the original gas in your stomach but the gas you have taken from outside. This gives temporary satisfaction, but the underlying problem in the stomach remains the same.

Cold drinks contain a lot of sugar. They contain various types of acids, flavors and chemicals. These chemicals directly damage the intestines and liver of our stomach. Regular consumption of cold drinks upsets the natural acid balance in the stomach. Which causes us to have more acidity and digestive problems.

If you are suffering from frequent gas and acidity, you should drink warm water instead of cold drinks. This speeds up the digestion process. The probiotics present in buttermilk cool the stomach. Coconut water helps reduce the acidity in the stomach. Ginger or ova are natural remedies for gas.
