Changing weather condition takes significant toll on both our health and our hair. Despite of using expensive shampoos, conditioners and costly hair spa treatments at salons, the texture of our hair often deteriorates further rather than improving. Consequently, our hair can become dry and lifeless, resembling a broom. However, spending thousands of rupees on expensive salon treatments is not financially feasible for everyone. Moreover, the chemicals present in these treatments can actually cause long-term damage to the hair.

Fortunately, our own kitchens harbor ingredients that can be utilized to achieve salon-quality silky and soft hair for as little as 10 rupees. With the help of this homemade hair spa treatment, dry and tangled hair can be transformed into silky-soft and lustrous locks in just a few minutes. A time-tested and highly effective remedy for combating issues such as hair loss, split ends, and dryness is a combination of yogurt and honey. Instead of spending thousands at a salon, this homemade protein pack imparts a natural shine to the hair.

To prepare this mask, you will need one bowl of fresh yogurt and two tablespoons of honey. Take the yogurt in a bowl and whisk it thoroughly. Add the honey to it and continue stirring until both ingredients are completely blended. If your hair is extremely dry, you may also add half a teaspoon of coconut oil or almond oil to the mixture.

First, comb your hair to remove any tangles. Divide your hair into small sections. Apply the mask evenly from the roots to the tips of your hair. Gently massage your scalp for five minutes; this helps improve blood circulation. Allow the mask to sit for 30 to 40 minutes after application. Afterward, wash your hair using lukewarm water and a mild shampoo. Avoid using excessively hot water while washing your hair, as this tends to make the hair even drier. Yogurt acts as a natural conditioner for our hair. The lactic acid present in this cleanses dirt from the hair and works to impart softness. Honey, on the other hand, is a natural moisturizer; it absorbs moisture from the air to keep the hair hydrated, making it silky and shiny.
