If you also have habit of wearing earphones while  walking, traveling, driving, or even washing dishes. You feel uncomfortable all day long if you forget your headphones at home one day then this is very serious issue. Using earphones all the time can be very harmful to your health. Nowadays, the use of headphones or earphones has increased a lot due to mobiles, laptops, and OTT platforms.

Headphones are used in the ears for everything, whether it is listening to songs, watching web series, online meetings, or gaming. But many people do not know that using headphones continuously and for a long time can have some serious effects on the ears. The biggest risk is hearing loss. Listening to songs at high volume for a long time puts stress on the tiny cells in the ear. Once these cells are damaged, they do not regenerate. Therefore, the ability to hear can gradually decrease. Another consequence is ear pain and pressure.

Wearing earphones continuously puts pressure on the inner part of the ear. Especially if you use in-ear earphones for a long time, the skin inside the ear becomes sensitive and can feel painful. Using headphones continuously also increases the risk of ear infections. If the earphones are not kept clean, germs accumulate on them. If these germs enter the ear, it can cause itching, swelling, pus or pain. Accumulation of sweat and moisture creates a favorable environment for bacteria to grow.

Apart from this, it can also affect the brain. Listening to music at a high volume continuously can reduce the ability to concentrate and increase headaches. Some people experience irritability, sleeplessness or stress. According to experts, it is beneficial to follow the 60/60 rule. That is, keep the volume level below 60 percent and do not use headphones for more than 60 minutes continuously. It is necessary to give your ears a rest in between. Although it is not possible to completely avoid using headphones, it is very important to limit their use and keep the volume level under control. Because if you do not take care of your ears, the effects can be permanent. If we develop the right habits, we can both enjoy technology and maintain the health of our ears.
