Gudi Padwa is the first day of Marathi new year, celebrated with hoisting Gudi a flag like structure, made-up of Bambo stick, saffron cloth, Kalash and garland. Falling on the first day of Chaitra in the Hindu lunar calendar, it marks the arrival of spring, the beginning of the harvest season, and a time of prosperity. In 2025, Gudi Padwa will be observed on Sunday, March 30. On this day grand procession take palace across the states with people getting dressed up and exchange the wishes.
