During summers eating spicy food can be risky as spicy foods contain compounds like capsaicin, which stimulate heat receptors in the body. In already hot weather, this can make you feel hotter, sweaty, and uncomfortable. So by using lemon juice while eating spicy food is very beneficial. Lemon is often squeezed on chaat, bhel, misal or spicy food. The ingredients in lemon help improve digestion and reduce the burning sensation caused by spices. This also enhances the taste and provides some relief to the stomach.

Similarly, ghee is also useful in balancing the pungency. If you eat spicy vegetables or amti with a little ghee on hot rice or pol, the pungency effect becomes a little milder. Ghee helps in digestion and also provides some protection to the inner lining of the stomach.

It is equally important to eat slowly and chew while eating spicy food. If you eat in a hurry, it puts more strain on the stomach and indigestion can increase. Also, instead of eating too much spicy food at once, eating in moderation is the easiest solution.

Eat things with cooling properties like curd, buttermilk or cucumber along with such foods. The body gets balanced. These things are very useful in reducing the hot effect of spices. Do not drink too much water, but drink it in small amounts.

Avoid sleeping or drinking tea or coffee immediately after eating spicy food. It is better to walk or sit for a while. This keeps the digestion process smooth. In short, if you want to enjoy eating spicy and savoury food, it is necessary to adopt some small habits along with it.

If you use lemon, ghee, curd properly, in moderate quantities and maintain the habit of eating calmly, you will get the taste and the stomach will not be disturbed. Therefore, you can enjoy spicy food with peace of mind.
