Shruti Haasan has always leaned towards a fuss-free, natural approach to beauty, often keeping her skincare simple and consistent rather than trend-driven. In an interview, she spoke about hydration, ageing, and why sticking to basics works best for her. “If you notice I’ve suddenly got a zit at age 40… which is hilarious. Which means I’m still very much alive,” she said, brushing off the pressure to look perfect.
Her routine is basic but consistent. “I need to cleanse, cleanse, cleanse and then moisturise.” With naturally dry skin, hydration is key. “I literally put on skin balm and sleep.” Oils are a big part of her routine. “I believe in eating oil, all over my body oil, in my hair. I’m like an oil junkie.” She keeps it simple here too. “It’s just sesame oil which I mix with a bit of coconut oil.” It’s also something she picked up at home. “My dad told me sesame oil really works for our skin and hair.”
Makeup is minimal and practical. “I don’t have a liquid foundation… I just use concealer all over my face because I like to let it show through.” A bit of contour and lip colour is enough for her day-to-day and my only must do is Brows. Otherwise I can’t ever step out.” For her, skincare isn’t about trends or complicated routines it’s about sticking to what works and being okay with how your skin shows up.
