Maha Shivratri Vrat Rules: Many devotees fast as a penance for Lord Shiva. Some observe a 'nirjala' fast, abstaining from food and water, while others follow a 'phalahar' fast, consuming only fruits and milk. Acceptable fruits include plums, bananas, apples, and oranges.
