The moon has already been sighted in Saudi Arabia and other Gulf nations, where fasting began today. In India, Ramadan traditionally starts a day after the Gulf countries. If the first fast falls on 19 February, Sehri in Delhi will end at around 5.36 am and Iftar will be at around 6.15 pm. Timings may vary slightly depending on the location of each city.

With the arrival of Ramadan, areas such as Delhi’s Jama Masjid and Mumbai’s Mohammed Ali Road are seeing increased activity, with people purchasing dates, fruits and other essentials for Sehri and Iftar.

Special arrangements have been made for Taraweeh (night prayers) in mosques across the country. These prayers will begin tonight as soon as the moon is sighted.
