Ranga Panchami is also known as Krishna Panchami, which is mainly celebrated in Maharashtra, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, and parts of Rajasthan. Ranga Panchami marks the conclusion of Holi festivities and is celebrated on the fifth day after Holi. The name Ranga Panchami itself says "Rang" means colour and "Panchami," means "panch" a numeric number five which refers to the fifth day. 

When is Ranga Panchami 2025, March 19 or 20?

As per the Hindu calendar Purnimanta, Ranga Panchami is usually celebrated on Krishna Paksha Panchami. The year, the festival will be celebrated on Wednesday, March 19. 

Shubh Muhurat Timings 

Panchami Tithi begins - 10:09 PM on March 18 (Tuesday).

Panchami Tithi ends - 12:36 AM on March 19 (Wednesday).

Ranga Panchami Significance

Ranga Panchami is celebrated on the 5th day after the Holi celebration. The festival observe with the belief that it will bring happy and prosperous life. It is mainly celebrated in Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, and parts of North India. The festival of Ranga Panchami is closely linked to the divine play of colours associated with Lord Krishna and Radha. 

The Hindu community believe that playing with colour on this day helps dispel negative energies and bring positive spiritual vibrations. The festival is also known as Krishna Panchami or Dev Panchami. In holy places like Mathura and Vrindavan, Rang Panchami is celebrated to mark the conclusion of Holi festivities.

Ranga Panchami 2025 Rituals

Ranga Panchami celebrated by playing Holi with gods as devotees rushed to the temple of Lord Krishna and throw colour on Radha and the Gopis. Special prayers were offered to Lord Krishan on this day, especially in holy places like Mathura, Vrindavan and Ujjain.

Rangapanchami celebrations in Hubballi were filled with vibrant festivities, including a rain dance and lively gatherings. The district administration advocated for a peaceful festival, while Naka Bandi was enforced in sensitive areas like Old Hubballi and Tumakuru to ensure safety.
