The auspicious Chaitra Navratri is celebrated and the ninth day of this festival is known as Ramnavi.  This day is celebrated as the birth anniversary of Lord Shri Ram. There is some confusion among people regarding the exact date of Ram Navami in the year 2026. Lets know, the date, Shub Muhurat and proper ritual.

When is Ram Navami?

Ram Navami will be celebrated on March 26, 2026, as the Navami Tithi, according to the Hindu Panchang, begins at 11:48 AM on March 26, 2026, and lasts until 10:06 AM on March 27, 2026.

The Madhyahna Kaal, the afternoon period believed to be when Lord Ram was born, is especially significant. This year, the auspicious Madhyahna Kaal extends from 11:13 AM to 1:41 PM, with midday occurring precisely at 12:27 PM, making worship during this time particularly meritorious.

  • To observe Ram Navami, begin the day with an early bath and clean attire.
  • Commence by praying to Lord Ganesha, then establish a picture or idol of Lord Shri Ram in a sanctified space.
  • Perform an abhishek with Ganges water, and offer sandalwood paste, akshat, flowers, and garments.
  • Light incense and a diya, conduct the worship, and present Bhog. Chanting Ram mantras or reciting the Ramayana is also appropriate.
  • Conclude by praying for happiness, peace, and prosperity.
  • Decorating the home, wearing new clothes, and performing a Havan are also considered auspicious on Ram Navami.
