5 more discharged in Pune after testing negative for coronavirus

Five COVID-19 patients from Pune's Pimpri-Chinchwad are set to be discharged from the hospital after testing negative for the virus in two consecutive tests.

Pune (Maharashtra)[India], Mar 29 : Five COVID-19 patients from Pune's Pimpri-Chinchwad are set to be discharged from the hospital after testing negative for the virus in two consecutive tests.

"Five COVID-19 patients from Pune have tested negative in repeat samples and will be discharged today," Shravan Hardikar, Municipal Commissioner, Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation, said.

This will increase the total tally of cured/discharged patients in Pune to 15, out of the total 36 COVID-19 positive cases here.

Maharashtra has been one of the worst hit states with 177 confirmed positive cases, according to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.

The total number of positive COVID-19 in India stands at 918, including foreign nationals. At the same time, 79 people have been cured/discharged the Ministry said on Sunday.
