An accident took place on Monday morning on the Pune-Mumbai lane (39 km) on the Mumbai-Pune Express Highway in Mauje-Adoshi area of ​​Khalapur taluka. At 9.15 am, the brakes of a gas tanker (HR 74-760) failed and the tanker collided with three vehicles. 

Traffic on the roads is thin in the state at present due to strict covid-19 restrictions. Only those in essential services are allowed to travel. However, the gas tanker overturned due to brake failure. Luckily there was no heavy traffic so a major accident was averted.

Preliminary information has revealed that three persons were injured in the accident on the Pune-Mumbai highway. Locals and police rushed to the spot after getting information about the incident. The brake failure of gas tanker hit three vehicles MH43U9894 Asia Tempo, MH12RN7380 Tata Taylor and MH12SX4282 container tempo.

This gas tanker is believed to contain propylene gas. Fortunately no casualties were reported, but three people were injured.
