According to reliable sources, the Maharashtra's financial situation has deteriorated due to the coronavirus lockdown due to which many development works are not getting funding. While on the other hand, reliable sources said that over Rs 90 crore was spent on renovation of bungalows of its ministers in the last one year.

Hwever Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar on Monday rubbished these reports. He said,"The reports about Rs 90 crores spent on Bungalow renovation (of Ministers) is not correct. I don't know where did they get this figure from. According to the concerned department, data on expenditure has not been updated yet"

The state government has claimed to have no money but it has funds "to renovate bungalows of its ministers; to buy new vehicles, and to pay to contractors", Senior BJP leader and former Maharashtra minister Sudhir Mungantiwar had alleged.
