Union Home Minister Amit Shah arrived at Raigad Fort in Maharashtra on Saturday, April 12, and paid tribute to the great Maratha warrior Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj on his 345th death anniversary. The fort, located in the Raigad district, served as the capital of Shivaji Maharaj’s empire and holds deep historical and cultural importance for the people of the state.

Along with the Union Home Minister, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Deputy Chief Ministers Eknath Shinde and Ajit Pawar paid tributes to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj on his death anniversary at Raigad Fort. Earlier on Saturday, Shah arrived in Raigad via helicopter, and he was received by Fadnavis and other Mahayuti leaders.

Amit Shah will also attend the centenary celebration of the renovation of Shivajiraje's mausoleum. His visit comes amid political tensions in Maharashtra over legacy debates and ongoing discussions within the Mahayuti alliance regarding the appointment of Guardian Ministers in Raigad and Nashik.

According to the reports, Shah is likely to meet National Congress Party (NCP-Ajit Pawar) state president Sunil Tatkare on Saturday afternoon with Eknath Shinde and Devendra Fadnavis. Later, he will attend the 75th Foundation Day celebration of Gujarati Weekly Chitralekha in Mumbai.
