Maharashtra DGP Subodh Jaiswal is all set to be deputed to the Centre in the coming week. According to a senior cabinet member the 1985 batch IPS officer had asked a state government NOC for deputation, and most probably will join National Security Guards (NSG) as DG.

“Chief minister Uddhav Thackeray and home minister Anil Deshmukh immediately approved the NOC and wished him success,’’ he said. Jaiswal, who was with external intelligence agency RAW for a prolonged period, returned to the state as Mumbai police chief on July 1, 2018. He was promoted as DGP on March 1, 2019. Jaiswal will retire on September 30, 2022.

As per reports Jaiswal was said to be upset with the Thackeray government in the state. He was not comfortable with Uddhav and Deshmukh over postings and transfers of IPS officers.
