Two weeks after a Indian bison was found in a residential locality in Kothrud, another one was spotted in Bavdhan suburb of Pune on Tuesday morning. The first one had died after being rescued from a residential area by the forest department in Kothrud.

Deputy Conservator of Forests Rahul Patil said, "The mal may have died due to stress or rise in body temperature as a huge crowd gathered to see it". The operation to rescue the Indian Bison continued for four to five hours. People in the residential area gathered to see it, out of curiosity, Patil stated.

Police and Pune forest division officials confirmed that a gaur was spotted in Bavdhan, near Pashan Lake. The place of sighting is adjacent to the Defence area where various facilities of the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) are located. A rescue operation has been launched by the forest department team, while police teams are deployed for crowd control.
