BJP MLA Suresh Dhas has claimed that Walmik Karad, an accused in the murder case of Sarpanch Santosh Deshmukh, was assaulted in Beed Jail. Following this claim, allegations of negligence were raised against the prison administration. However, the administration has now issued a clarification stating that Karad was not assaulted. Beed Jail Director General of Police, Jalindar Supekar, provided details on the incident. He said, "This morning, a dispute arose over a phone call between Mahadev Gitte and members of the Sonawane-Phad gang. The argument escalated into a physical altercation. While there was a conflict involving Gitte and the gang, Walmik Karad had no connection to the incident," Supekar clarified.
Additionally, Supekar confirmed that no one was injured in the incident. There was a chance that something bad would occur here ever since Walmik Karad and Sudarshan Ghule were sent to the Beed District Jail. The possibility has finally materialised. Consequently, there is a chance that Sudarshan Ghule and Walmik Karad would be moved right away to the Amravati and Nagpur jails. Reports that Walmik Karad was assaulted have been refuted by the jail administration. There is a nervous silence here despite the fact that the situation at the Beed District Jail is under control following this incident.

Providing information about the incident, MLA Suresh Dhas stated, "Baban Gitte and Mahadev Gitte claim that Walmik Karad falsely implicated them in the murder case of Parli Sarpanch Bapu Andhale, leading to false charges against them. Out of this resentment, I have learned that Mahadev Gitte assaulted Walmik Karad and Sudarshan Ghule in the prison," Dhas said.
