Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar has expressed deep grief over the death of ten children in a fire at the neonatal care unit of Bhandara District Hospital. 

This incident is extremely unfortunate, tragic. The government has taken serious note of this and has directed Ajit Pawar to immediately audit the child care units in other hospitals in the state.

Ajit Pawar, Maharashtra Deputy CM and Finance Minister has ordered audit of all hospitals on an urgent basis following the fire incident at Bhandara District General Hospital that claimed lives of 10 people. Pawar further said, in consultation with the Health Minister Rajesh Tope & district administrators, directed the hospital to resume with due diligence & treat other children under the supervision of specialists.

As many as 10 infants died in a fire that broke out at Sick Newborn Care Unit (SNCU) of Bhandara District General Hospital at 2 am on Saturday.
