BJP MLA Ram Kadam on Friday was detained by the Mumbai Police from Mantralaya while he was on a hunger strike in a protest against the assault and arrest of Republic Media Network's Editor-in-Chief Arnab Goswami.

Observing a hunger strike sitting outside Mantralaya on Friday, Ram Kadam demanded the immediate release of Arnab Goswami and announced that his hunger strike will continue at the police station too.

Earlier on Thursday, BJP MLA Ram Kadam after writing to Maharashtra CM Uddhav Thackeray, met Governor Bhagat Singh Koshiyari and demanded suspension of 9 police personnel who assaulted Republic Media Network's Editor-in-Chief Arnab Goswami.

On Wednesday Kadam wrote to Maharashtra CM Uddhav Thackeray demanding the suspension of 9 police personnel who assaulted Republic Media Network's Editor-in-Chief Arnab Goswami. In a letter addressed to Thackeray, Kadam said that the way in which the police personnel barged into Arnab's house and assaulted him is condemnable. While stressing that he has a lot of regard for the Maharashtra police, he lamented that 9 cops had misused their power.
